THE PROJECT

Scolopax will document my path through value(s) investing, becoming a better investor and a better person.

I’ve been writing my own stuff for years. I kept these reflections personal but it felt like it was not the best way to make the best out of them. Nobody comes to challenge your thoughts if you keep them for yourself. If you want to keep improving, you need to make them public, open to critics.

I expect writing publicly will improve my clarity of thought, explore more ideas and make me accountable to people beyond myself. My goal is to engage with others in order to continue to grow and learn both from an investor and personal point of view.

Scolopax is the vehicle I’ll use for that journey.

WHO AM I

I’ve been working in the asset management industry for a bit less than 10 years as an equity analyst. I focus on European and North American companies and have a “generalist” approach. I consider myself as a value investor in the original sense of the term: figure out how much an asset is worth and pay way less for acquiring it.

I like reading and learning new stuff to extend my knowledge web. When not doing so, you may probably find me in the outdoors or traveling.
